Part A: A questionnaire study serves as an inventory of the diversity of the current use of tasks and the handling of tasks in physics lessons at grammar schools; a comparison with older data is planned.
Part B: The productive failure approach used in maths didactics is to be transferred to physics didactics. Optical black box experiments will be used as the task type (Friege & Rode, 2016; Rode & Friege, 2017). It will be investigated whether the experimental processing of these boxes (each with six openings, examination with a lamp, see example photo) also has a learning-promoting effect according to the productive failure approach and whether the high level of motivation is maintained.
