Project description
The SoMeCliCs project uses the exemplary context of climate change to analyse how social media influence social discourse, e.g. due to fake news or echo chambers. In addition, basic skills in the use of social media are being researched and empirically analysed to determine how these skills can be promoted in formal education. Modern digital methods are used that enable ecologically valid investigation of the relevant behaviours in social media. The project comprises four sub-projects. The "Intervention" sub-project is being implemented in physics didactics. Teaching units are being trialled in physics lessons in schools that deal with the topics of climate change and the use of social media. Among other things, the media and evaluation skills of learners will be strengthened. As part of the project, a scientific conference will be organised and an anthology published.
